Te Marua
Te Marua is the most northern urban suburb of Upper Hutt. Te Marua is well known for its Plateau Reserve where remnants of the old Rimutaka Railway path can be found, which now form part of an historic walk. Mt Climie, the highest peak on the Rimutaka Range can also be reached from the Reserve.
Wellington Speedway is a national venue for stock car racing and is the home of Te Marua Raceway.
Te Marua is also home to the Te Marua Golf Course, an 18 hole A-grade entity with a rural atmosphere. The course is built on gently undulating ground adjacent to the Hutt River, with just enough elevation on some holes to provide an additional challenge.
Te Marua is situated on State Highway 2 and is the last significant township (and shop) on the road before it reaches the head of the Hutt Valley and across the Rimutaka Range into the Wairarapa.
